Naughty Bear Media Explores Rejection, Revenge

WET developer A2M has released the first adorable trailer and screenshots for its cheery sadistic revenge game, Naughty Bear.

The trailer explains why poor Naughty Bear is so upset with his fellow bears on the Island of Perfection, while screenshots demonstrate a few of the "unique ways to cause naughtiness" as players wage "psychological warfare" against the jerks, and other bears in multiplayer.

Naughty Bear is headed to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the second quarter of 2010.

    A game like this could actually work if it juxtaposed the smarmy cuteness with over the top violence and torture. Gibs would be a must, as would extreme bloodletting with unique weapons. If the revenge devices were sort of like Rube Goldberg machines or utilized physics to let you take out other bears in a creative sandbox environment, that'd also be awesome. Toss in the Euphoria engine on top of it all to watch the bears move realistically while they're getting mauled, and you've got a sleeper hit.

    Unfortunately, it looks like they're going to go the non-gory, non-shock route, which is going to kill this title before it's even released.
