Indie Platformer 'VVVVVV' Coming Sunday
by Alice O'Connor, Jan 04, 2010 11:10am PSTIndie developer Terry Cavanagh has announced that his topsy-turvy platformer VVVVVV will be released on January 10 for $15. Windows, Mac and Linux flavours will be available DRM-free from its site.
Rather than jumping, VVVVVV sees players inverting gravity to navigate the harsh but fair spiky retro world. I thoroughly enjoyed VVVVVV's challenging charms when I played at the Eurogamer Expo and a demo is in the works so you can check it out for yourself.

GTA IV - $7.49 - http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/61737
That's 1/2 the cost of VVVVVV. And GTA IV is the game that "Overall, [...] took over 1000 people and more than three and a half years to complete, with a total cost estimated at approximately $100 million, making it the most expensive game ever developed." And it went on to become one of the most successful and highest rated games of all time.
So you can buy two copies of the most expensive game ever made for the same price as one copy of an Atari game. Or the same price as Braid when it was released. And this game is not Braid.
