Dragon Age: Origins 'Ostagar' DLC Due Next Week, Hitting PlayStation 3 'Later'

Initially slated to arrive during the "holiday season," the first post-release downloadable add-on for BioWare's fantasy RPG Dragon Age will hit PC and Xbox 360 next Tuesday, January 5, the developer and publisher / studio owner Electronic Arts announced today.

Priced at 400 BioWare Points / 400 Microsoft Points / $4.99, "Return to Ostagar" brings players "to the fateful battleground in Ostagar where the Grey Wardens were nearly wiped out," offering up new items, more darkspawn to kill, and "a second chance to add Dog to your party" in the process.

The add-on is also coming to PlayStation 3 eventually, with today's announcement simply noting that the PlayStation 3 release is expected "later in the month."

If I wanted a second chance to add dog to my party I would have just played the game a second time, I was happy with the items I received, and if I wanted to kill more darkspawn I would just play the game again.

    That'll be fine. How about a new locale? Somewhere that hasn't been visited already. How about some new enemies? Another Dragon, it is the age of dragon's supposedly. And the chance to add dog again? Really? Ferelden is surrounded by other countries, are we to believe that we can't travel to them? Sten has travelled here why can't we go to the homeland of the qunari? Expect a little more for your hard earned money.
