Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Trailer Employs Shaky Cam

IO Interactive has released a grainy new trailer for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, seemingly seeking to emulate shooter sequel's cited inspirations of "documentary filmmakers and the user-generated era" for a minidoc about action, anticipation and urination.

Described modestly as "a raw and brutal crime shooter designed to take players on an intense and unforgiving experience, following two of gaming's most authentic and realistic criminals through the gritty Shanghai underworld," Dog Days is slated to arrive for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010 under Square Enix's Eidos label.

I like this trailer. It was one of the few action game trailers recently that wasn't just a montage of important sounding macho dialogue and mixed in with huge action movie setpieces. It actually set the scene, had characters doing human things, created mystery and curiosity, and with the last bit of silence in the end gave you a feeling that bad shit was going to go down soon.

Great trailer.

I heard the story in the first one was good, the gameplay just flat out sucked hard. I do enjoy a good story based shoot'em up, but if the gameplay is just as wretched as the first, big passola.

No game has really ever delivered on this level of cinematic tension and adrenaline. What games still lack is the environmental damage. Bullets need to wreck havok on the environment like they did in the famous Matrix lobby scene.

Enjoyed the first game a lot. Great fun with a mate and some old-skool splitscreen co-op. Just loved the tone and the themes. Even if the second only brings much of the same, I'm still down. Even the film is sounding like it might turn out decent at this stage.
