Dragon Age Coming to Mac Next Monday

The official Mac-compatible release of Dragon Age: Origins will arrive as a digital download next Monday, December 21, original developer BioWare and "portability technologies" studio TransGaming announced today.

The Mac version of the RPG will be sold in standard and digital deluxe form through "popular online digital reatilers," according to today's press release.

As with the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Dragon Age, which hit November 3, The Stone Prisoner add-on will be bundled with the game, with the "digital deluxe" version also packing a Warden's Keep add-on that can be bought separately.

It's cool that Bioware is doing their announcement so close to the actual release date. It's been claimed at various times that Unreal 3 and Gears of War were coming to the Mac and that never came to anything. It's also nice that the idea of paying the same price as the PC at release isn't as silly as it seems to buy Bioshock for $49 now that it's been on Steam for $5. Here's hoping that this means that they will be releasing the Mass Effect series for the Mac soon.
