This week's Xbox Live Arcade release will be retro remake Qix ++, director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has announced.
Originally released in arcades by Space Invaders creator Taito in 1981, Qix involved boxing off sections of the screen to capture them while avoiding roaming enemies.
While Nelson offers no details beyond the fact that Qix ++ will arrive on December 9 for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), an automated translation of the Japanese Xbox blog--an entry spotted by GamerBytes--suggests some form of four-player multiplayer.
