Supreme Commander 2 Release Dates Announced

Just one day after revealing that Supreme Commander 2 is due next spring, publisher Square Enix has announced specific dates.

Gas Powered Games' strategy sequel will hit North America in PC form on March 2, with the Xbox 360 edition following March 16.

Two rather enthusiastic quotes from GPG founder Chris Taylor--"The partnership with Square Enix has been a highlight of my career" and "I couldn't be more proud of what the team has accomplished, as the game has continually exceeded all of my expectations throughout its development"--accompanied the news, as did some new footage:

Lots of articualtions, lots of things going on, you can see the uef factory producing a gunship (plane lifts off going through a steel bar) it makes the game come alive.

Nice...seems pretty good. Really like how he said that it's actually simulated and not just that random crap stuff.

But the graphics in this seem cartoonish and textures look over-simplified, which I don't like...would prefer a more realistic gritty look.
And why no map on the HUD? And the actual map seems really small and boring...looks more like a Demigod map.

Looks great, im getting this on day one but hopefully the SP campaign introduces me to the unites on a slower pace, i got confused by having many unites at first and not knowing which is better than the other and what all the upgrades for.

I'm really impressed with this. I played a bit of Supcom 1 and loved the concept, but was a bit overwhelmed. I feel like they are making a lot of great changes (more character in visuals, streamlined upgrades, better UI) and I really want this game. Loved the video.
