Thief-inspired Doom 3 Mod 'The Dark Mod' Released
by Alice O'Connor, Oct 19, 2009 10:15am PDTThe Dark Mod, a much-anticipated Doom 3 mod heavily inspired by Looking Glass Studios' seminal Thief first-person stealth series, has finally made it to beta over five years after development began. Snag the 1.4GB download from FileShack.

Only four missions are included as developer Broken Glass Studios--a name hinting at just how "inspired by" Thief the unofficial mod is--views The Dark Mod as a "mapping toolkit" for fans to create their own missions, using its custom editor DarkRadiant.
The Thief series will officially continue with Thief 4 from Eidos Montreal, who is currently exploring further hallowed PC gaming ground with the development of Deus Ex 3.

I don't mind your criticism, but I do take issue with your tone and attitude. The release is 1.00 BETA, bugs are to be expected.
As for the graphics, they're just fine thank you. Thief was never about graphics whoring, and neither is TDM. Our priority is in producing a solid toolset, and challenging gameplay. We'll iron out the bugs over the next few weeks. If you have any more helpful comments in the meantime, feel free to drop by our forums and report the bugs to us so we can fix them.
