Splinter Cell: Conviction Trailer Keeps It Cool

"While keeping what's always been cool in Splinter Cell, Conviction allows for a faster and more instinctive gameplay experience," designer Dean Evans claims as he walks us through a few different portions of Ubisoft Montreal's stealth-action sequel.

The long-coming title, initially due in 2007, hits PC and Xbox 360 on February 23.

It's still too far removed from Splinter Cell's core stealth values. This does not look like it will be a worthy sequel to Chaos Theory. Ubisoft also needs to bring back the coop and Spies vs Mercs multiplayer modes.

the more they show, the worse it looks. in the initial version all sam's animations during the execution mode were slick as fuck, now it's super clunky. leads me to believe the first gameplay demos were canned, and this what the game will look/feel like.

Well that looks fun. Action and stealth really can be worked together to make a kick ass game when done properly. Two great tastes that taste great together. Over the top violence can't hurt either ;)
