Painkiller: Resurrection Gets Trailer, Gold Status
by Chris Faylor, Oct 15, 2009 8:55am PDT"Pain Is Back," declares this trailer for Homegrown's frantic shooter sequel Painkiller: Resurrection (PC). Other points? "New & Improved Monsters." "New & Improved Weapons." "New Co-Op Mode." "Dynamic Light Sources." "Destructible Environments."
The game went gold today, and will be at North American retailers on October 27. A downloadble demo should be available "shortly," according to publisher JoWooD.

There are shit load of other games that bring back the same weapon, fire ball, locations etc I am not even gona bother make a point?
Why are people even shocked stuff from the previous game are back in this sequal, wtf, all other sequels do this?
Here is what is in this sequal :
-Unique storyline told using top quality "graphic novel" style cutscenes
-Completely reworked "Painkiller 2.0 engine" with shader effects, weather systems, a superb physics engine, and ultra-fast netcode, including an anticheat system
-The best weapons from all of the Painkiller titles + new, inventive tools of death
-Classic-style FPS levels and enormous, explorable areas provide varied gameplay
-4-player co-op campaign
-Countless eSports-grade multiplayer modes with numerous new and updated maps
FYI, the next Halo will have the same guns, mobs, so will Mario, Street fighter, COD, blah blah blah

TBH, I'd prefer to see People Can Fly doing a new Painkiller...but now that they are part of Epic I don't see them doing anything like it (I actually think if they handed them the Unreal Tournament franchise, a shit load of money/resources, and the freedom to do whatever the hell they wanted...they could really make something amazing...but thats me).

Jowood / Dreamcatcher are the cheapest bunch of pricks on the planet. Rather than nurture the IP by investing in new tech and using top notch talent to make a true "Painkiller 2", they go this route.

But who cares about that crap, I liked the game and nobody cares about those things anyway.
But the "improved" things just seem rather shallow.
I know the game is already done, but please don't make this suck like Overdose did.
It's Painkiller. It's not rocket scientist. I don't need better physics, I just need more crazy shit to kill.
