Demon's Souls Multiplayer Walkthrough: We Ain't 'Fraid of No Ghosts
by Nick Breckon, Sep 23, 2009 5:00pm PDTApparitions and blood stains represent the multiplayer functionality of Demon's Souls, the upcoming RPG from From. Like a time trial mode in a racing game, other players that are trudging through Demon's Souls in single player appear as ghosts. In a clever, potentially hilarious twist, they can also leave notes on the ground, to either help or trick other players as they progress through the game. Players can also be summoned to help out in the present. Check out the video below to see it in action.
Demon's Souls arrives October 6 on PlayStation 3.

Yet I keep playing. There is some sense of reward there when you overcome a spot.
Think of old side scrollers like Ninja Gaiden, and how you basically had to memorize everything that was going to come at you to reach the boss with enough juice to take him on reasonably. Now imagine the pace of that game slowed down dramatically to the point where progress is never apparent, and that short level will take you 30 minutes to pass effectively because you DO have to be THAT methodical.
This game is NOT for everyone, and I'm pretty sure I'm not one of the ones it is for. But it's clear that anyone who, in a few months' time, can claim via YouTube or whatever that they kicked this game's ass, is a person who is both very good at video games, and very patient.
