Borderlands Ever So Slightly Delayed on PC
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 23, 2009 6:29am PDTThe PC version of Gearbox's open-world RPG-shooter Borderlands has been delayed by six days to provide a little more optimisation time, according to an IGN report.
Borderlands will now hit PC in North America on October 26, back from the original date of October 20, while the international release will not arrive until October 30.
"We're optimizing the PC version which takes a few days longer than expected," Charlie Sinhaseni, senior PR manager at publisher 2K Games, told IGN.
Borderlands is still on course to hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America on October 20. PC gamers, drown your sorrows in our impressions and interview.

Just say "we can only ship so much product at once at once and we prioritize the console versions, so pc gamers will get the game a week later".

I'm buying a new PC anyway, and I'm not buying until the new ATI cards come out, so I probably won't have it before the game comes out anyway.
I have a 360, but I don't use it for FPS. In fact, I think the only games I have are Castle Crashers and Dead Rising. I won the 360 in a contest so I didn't have to pay for it. Probably wouldn't have it otherwise.
I won't be stuck playing FPS with the, "poor man's mouse." I prefer to play on PC where the hardware is better, the games are cheaper, there is an option on controllers, and the online and DLC are free.
Nothing against consoles, I just prefer to play on PC so I can shoot with a mouse that allows me to shoot with precision, and turn in a fraction of a second with the same precision.

Also, has anybody SEEN any footage of the PC version in-game? All the videos online that say "PC Gameplay" all show Xbox 360 buttons and the "joystick" aiming.

1. Recent videos have looked pretty jerky both animation-wise and in general
2. Recent videos have made the game appear as if it's focused on consoles, in general
3. The vaunted new art-style didn't look that great and (for me) detracted, rather than enhanced the game
I want to like this game and I'm really hoping it's great on PC with keyboard/mouse but I've gone from must purchase to "definitely waiting for reviews first, before buying."

Man, I'd have to shift my vacation days around, if I had a job like that.

Right now I have so many games to play, as long as they are "optimizing" I support hem 100%.
Looking forward to this game.
