Latest Halo 3: ODST Trailer Explores History

These guys had me at "I guess we kind of made it like the first halo."

Also I will enjoy some personality in the characters.

Hopefully amazon gets my preordered copy to me on release day. Can't wait! Co-op Halo is soooo fun.

Looks pretty cool. Won't buy an Xbox for it though. I read Contact Harvest which gave me a feel for the history of the Halo universe. I played Halo1 for a bit on the PC but never finished it. Too bad ODST is an XBOX only game. You'd think MS would want a PC version as well.

So, if i get this, do i need halo 3 to play MP, or can i just get this? Becuase Toys r Us is rumored to give you a 20 dollar gift card for this on tuesday, so i am tempted to buy...

Up until this point in time, i was COMPLETELY against ODST, for a few reasons.

1. The game was previously only a 3 hour expansion that you would still play $60 for. Not anymore it seems with the "full game" statement by one of the devs.

2. No motion tracker, insane amounts of health, and dual-wielding? WIN.

3. The story seems much easier to grasp, and WAY more thought out than Halo 3. I love the way you play individually as the Rookie in the present, but also play with an extensive team during the "flashback" missions. Was Microsoft holding Bungie back?

4. Same engine, but now the environment seems to actually fit the visuals.
Now my opinion on ODST? This will be a solid Halo game, better than the last. I cant believe Im saying this but, Im actually sad I dont have a 360. PC gaming is the best hands sown, but you miss out on little golden nuggets like this game. Sad face.

So here is the million dollar question (not that it matters) how long is the game actually, 10 hours or more like 6?

I have to buy it because I need the multiplayer maps and I love coop gameplay but I still don't think they went far enough with the human ODST aspect. The health system isn't harsh enough. You shouldn't be able to wield some of the heavier weapons like the hammer or the turrets (much less jump with them) and I wish they'd allow you to play as an ODST in multiplayer with all the handicaps and weaknesses your Spartan foes don't have to contend with. The VISR HUD is cool but would have liked some more ODST specific gear and tools. 2 new guns (really 1 since the SMG isn't that different) seems light sauce.

Wow... awesome video. I wasn't interested at all in this game and now I'm thinking I'll buy it.
