Fans of reality as we know it should avert their eyes, as Avalanche Studio's open-world shooter sequel Just Cause 2 ignores it completely to deliver a spectacular display of grappling hook and parachute-powered locomotion and destruction in this new trailer.

Published by Eidos, Just Cause 2 will hit PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010.

this game looks great but the concept of a guy parachuting into battle in broad daylight is suicidal. You know how easy it would be for the enemies to gun him down with machine guns as he's gliding down into their base.

Looks ridiculously OTT and awesome (as more games should be). Hoping it'll be a lot of fun.

(Quick aside to the devs: The trailer makes the game look great, and I'm very impressed by what you seem to be doing. There's really no need to make yourselves look any cooler with silly camera tricks that look like they belong in a Japanese horror film. To be perfectly honest, it just comes off as a bit silly. You're game developers, not action heros. But that's a good thing, and we admire you for it. Please just tell me something about the game next time; I shit the bed whenever you give me those creepy stares. Did I do something wrong :S ?)

Those dudes at Avalanche are a talented bunch. This looks incredible, they've managed to outdo the first one by leaps and bounds in the visual department. Let's hope the moment-to-moment gameplay lives up to the rest of it. So far this is a must buy. Very impressed by this video.

The developers do an extremely effective job with these videos making them look fun as hell. I learned my lesson after the first game though that what you see in promos and the actual game are two different things (the first game sucked). I know that goes for most games but this dev is particularly skilled in making things look better than they really are.
