Operation Flashpoint Trailer: Dragon Rising Sound

Codemasters says that its military shooter sequel Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising "stunning realistic audio." To illustrate that claim, it sent over a new developer diary.

In development for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Dragon Rising is due October 6.

A lot of podcasts are saying this game is terrible. Which truly sucks, because ArmA 2 was a huge let down.

Don't think about turning up that nice surround system to hear the actual game cause something really crappy will scream louder than the gunfire and explosions. I'm sure they will include a super annoying, extra loud sound or voice ingame that can't be turned down or off. Maybe... it will be ingame music that is twice as loud as the game volume, and can't be adjusted. It's a tradition for interesting titles to be obnoxious in this way.

I hope this video was recorded in normal mode and not hardcore, because there were a few moments of "stupid enemy ai" just sitting there while the player was 5 feet away blasting the shit outta enemy targets.

So they have this whole video talking about how amazing and game-crucial the authentic audio is in their game - and then they layer this heavy music across most of it so that you can't hear any of the game. Way to go.
