Alan Wake Trailer Sets the Scene

I have all the major platforms ps3/360/wii/pc and have to say I prefer my pc to all of them. I was really excited about this game when it was announced for pc and billed as a made for pc expirence. But now, given all the delays and bs about it most likely not making it to pc, I can't be bothered to even watch this trailer.

They have lost me as a customer, at least for now. Shame on them.

Just wanted to share that.

Looks good, I hope there is a bit more to the gameplay than just using light, but its a nice change from the typical FPS weaponry. I guess we'll progress from a mini-mag lite to flashlight to light house beacons.

I also wonder if the whole story takes place in one day/night cycle, or if there are a few days to it.

Anyone know whether Remedy is owned by Microsoft or are they just publishing the one game? It's kind of sickening such a good developer tied down by such pricks.

That's a great trailer, went from having no interest in the game to being quite excited. It's shocking that it isn't confirmed for the PC though, it looks like a PC game through and through.

Really like the game world. Still no sold on the combat.

It's always nice to see a developer willing to at least try something new instead of rehashing a moldy (but reliably lucrative) franchise or grinding out another cookie-cutter RPRTMMOFPSMaddenTigerWoods... thing.

This looks like a very promising experiment so far.

That actually looks really cool. I'd stopped following this game when it seemed to disappear into development limbo after the much earlier quad-core PR with Intel. So I start this video, and it's boring and doesn't seem like a good fit at all for a console game with lots of talking and cut scenes, but then they introduce the action elements and they actually look pretty darn good!

I suppose my main concern is that they're putting the writing and acting front and center, seemingly before all else, and if those elements are at all sub-par, they could really drag the game down. I'm not yet convinced that Remedy can make a game capable of leaning heavily on its story telling (for me, Max Payne's action was its dominant characteristic by far and made up for any other silliness).

I want this so bad.

Looks awesome, looks like they're really building a great creepy atmosphere. I'm definitely glad that I purchased a 360 recently, because this looks kick-ass.

I hope this turns out good.

man this looks like so much fun, I hope they release it for the PC though.

Games looks great as always can't wait till Spring though I know this comment section will get filled with hate in a second >_>
