Brutal Legend Demo Coming September 17
by Chris Faylor, Aug 18, 2009 7:30am PDTUpdate 2: It now appears that only pre-orders will get the demo on September 17.
Update: The Brutal Legend demo will arrive on September 17, creator Tim Schafer clarified during publisher Electronic Arts' GameCom 2009 press conference.
Original: A downloadable demo of Double Fine's Brutal Legend will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at some point in September, allowing gamers to sample the rocking action-adventure game before its North American release on October 13.
"We just couldn't wait," said Double Fine president Tim Schafer. "Villagers have surrounded our offices with torches, demanding the game. So we're releasing a demo and hope that this taste of metal will keep the mob at bay until Brutal Legend comes out."
More details on the demo's availability should arrive shortly, as today's press release made reference to a specific section of the official site that has yet to be updated. The current placeholder page only reads "Brutal Legend Pre-Order," suggesting that those who pre-order the game may get advance access before the demo goes public.
