The doom 1 and 2 engine are identical (When patched) - what the fuck took this long to get this out? Why wasn't this out 3 months after Doom 1?
This completely reeks of it being timed perfectly for maximum $ - wait until the Doom 1 sales are completely and utterly dwindled and milked then strike with this. Is Nintendo helping them out with this?

Online play! Man, I killed some hours playing this on LAN and on BBS systems. One of the local BBS had a game connection plugin that let us play 3-4 player over modems. We had to set ticdup up a bit and it felt a bit laggy and made you turn in like 1 degree increments, but damn it was fun.
This could bring back a lot of memories. Back in the days before people understood circle strafing, etc.

The Doom XBLA port was great, apart from (apparently) a few bugs that were carried over from an out-of-date version of Doom. I look forward to this, I hope it gets a quick release like Doom XBLA did.
If it comes out at 1200 points though I swear I'm going to tear someone a new one.
