Wii Sports Resort Sales Surpass 500,000

Nintendo has announced that over 500,000 units of Wii Sports Resort have been sold between its July 26 debut and August 5, a period of just 11 days.

That equates to roughly 1.5 copies of the game sold per second, according to Nintendo, which has clearly done its Brain Age math tests.

Nintendo of America VP of sales Cammie Dunaway was naturally pleased with the impressive numbers, calling the performance a "great start."

This game is awesome. My 5 year old loves pretty much every aspect of this game, except maybe the golf. He goes nuts on the swordfighting missions fighting all the bad Mii's, hes panting and sweating by the time he is done. The controller is pretty cool also definitely more responsive to what you are doing with it than before. Basketball is kinda weird, not an intuitive control but still fun.

As for the game itself, my roomates and I like it a lot. My favorite events are swordplay (the 1:1 motion control is spot on), table tennis and archery. Not too keen on the water events, though.
