Second Quake Arena Arcade Screenshot: One Frag, Hold the Gibs
by Nick Breckon, Jul 21, 2009 2:42pm PDTThe second screenshot of Pi Studios' Xbox Live port of Quake III, Quake Arena Arcade, was released today.
Unlike the first glimpse we had of the long-awaited game, this one actually shows a typical mid-frag scene from the shooter.
Pi is planning to support up to 16 players in the downloadable multiplayer title. Some 40 maps will be available to play across modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Tournament, Harvester and Overload.
A release is expected soon, but no date has been set.

I usually just shake my head and laugh to myself a little whenever the Controller vs KB+mouse debate is brought up, because in my experience the controls in most console shooters are just fine. But not when it comes to Quake. I played a little Quake 4 deathmatch on Xbox 360, and it was basicly impossible to hit anything with the rocket launcher.
I thoroughly enjoy games like COD4 or Gears on the console, but when it comes to Quake, PC is the only way to go.
