THQ Dates Red Faction: Guerilla PC, Lists Specs

The PC version of Volition's explosion-laden shooter Red Faction: Guerrilla will now arrive on September 15 in North America, according to publisher THQ. The international release will take place four days earlier on September 11.

Red Faction was released on consoles during the first week of June. The PC port, expected to see a delay to late summer, was originally pegged for an August 25 showing.

THQ also released the minimum and recommended specs for the game, which can be perused below:

Minimum:

OS: Windows XP / Vista
CPU: 2.0 GHz Dual-Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
Memory: 1GB RAM / 15GB of Hard Drive space
Video Card: 128MB 3D Video Card with Shader Model 3.0 Support (Nvidia GeForce 7600/ATI Radeon X1300)

Recommended:

OS: Windows Vista for DirectX 10
CPU: 3.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
Memory: 2GB RAM / 15GB of Hard Drive space
Video Card: 256MB 3D Video Card with Shader Model 3.0 Support (Nvidia GeForce 8800/ATI Radeon HD3850)

After the horror of Saints Row 2, I'm staying away from this one. Not sure if it's Volitions own port or not, but SR2 was so horrendously done, it's keeping me well away from this :(

I already own the 360 version, but I'm gonna pick this up through steam as well. If Volition won't release a coop mod, I'm sure some kind soul will take it upon themselves to fix that for us.

I guess doing a North American release on 9/11 of a game where you can raze entire buildings would have been a little too on the nose, although its september 15th, makes you wonder if anyone thinks about this stuff at all. After all didnt the government do photo shoot over new york of an airliner and some fighter jets...

I burned myself out on the PS3 version but once again, I feel as if I'm obligated to buy this game on PC just so I can show them that I prefer a PC version.

Voting with your wallet is pretty annoying when voting costs $50 for each one.

Wow, I rented for the 360 a while back and was a whole lot of fun, I didn't buy because I wanted to the the PC version. And am I glad, cause these screens look ALOT better than the 360 counterpart. The explosions look much better. I'm going to guess it's the DX10. :)
