Left 4 Dead 2 Screenshot Reveals 'Swamp Fever'
by Chris Faylor, Jul 10, 2009 1:53pm PDTContinuing its slow drip of Left 4 Dead 2 details, developer Valve has released a new screenshot from the game's "Swamp Fever" campaign.
In all, the zombie shooter sequel will sport five new campaigns, with only one other, "The Parish," having been revealed thus far. Valve is also being cautious in revealing the "20-plus new items," which will deliver a frying pan, cricket bat and chainsaw, among others.
During E3, Valve's Chet Faliszek briefly mentioned that the game's AI Director now has control over weather, and can summon blinding rainstorms without warning.
While Left 4 Dead 2 won't hit PC and Xbox 360 until November 17, those attending the San Diego Comic Con will be able to play "Swamp Fever" at the EA Gaming Lounge, which will be located at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel on 401 K. Street.

Sure, the main gameplay is going to be damn near the same thing, but Valve says they're changing enough to warrant a sequel. Why can't you call just trust that? We've trusted Valve blindly for every other thing they've ever said and it's paid off. How about instead forcing them to backpedal for their fans and try to get crossplatform L4D1/2 compatibility in, possibly limiting the things they can do with L4D2, we just let them do what they see fit with their game? They're the artists and they've proven they know what they're doing time and time again. Chill out and let them work their magic.

We got screwed , not trolling here....
You know its true and there will always be people who cant face that fact so they call anyone who goes against L4D2 , L4D1 isnt in my eyes a full game... But hell thats my opinion so what does it matter.

No, they couldn't.
They are revamping the AI director and essentially remaking the game from scratch.
New characters, new campaigns, new programming.
TF2 updates are just bolt-ons. Sure, they're fun as hell, but they don't really change the game that much.
Besides, Valve are continuing to add to L4D so shut your beak.
If you're too cheap to shell out £15-£20 for L4D2 then that's your problem.

In the end we are all here reading this article because we have an interest in Valve's creations and if any of us thought their previous games are awesome then this one will not disappoint. If any game disappointed us at all it was L4D1 and maybe Valve was more disappointed with it than any fan. Maybe they were so unsatisfied they figured it best to scrap it and try again... Anyway if you don't wanna pay full price wait for one of Valve's many weekend deals. For those on Xbox360? A cheap video card can run L4D2

Myself, I think L4D1 was well worth the money, and plan on buying L4D2 as well.

Rip off!
Can't wait for this!!! But I'm also still hoping for another campaign or two before its release for the original. And here's to hoping that they at least give us some way to password-protect our servers. If I have to play with anymore dillweeds who show up because they're a friend of a friend of a friend (such a CRAP SYSTEM Valve - please fix it), I think I'll unleash my hordes of servile zombies on the world ahead of my personal schedule. So watch it, Valve and fix that crap. :P
