Demon's Souls Gets Release Date, Deluxe Edition
by Chris Faylor, Jul 06, 2009 8:40am PDTFrom Software's Demon's Souls (PS3), "the ultimate action RPG" going by publisher Atlus, will arrive at North American retailers on October 6 with various goodies in tow.
Those that pre-order the game from "participating retailers" will receive a "free bonus art book." In addition to the standard $59.99 version of the game, Atlus will be releasing a $69.99 deluxe edition that comes with an exclusive "150+ page strategy guide."
The company claimed that this is "less than it costs to import the game"--an English version has already been released internationally--with marketing VP Tim Pivnicny adding that "we hope this is an offer patient Demon's Souls fans will be hard-pressed to resist."

(The japanese/asian players aren't awful to play with (in fact they're great so far (apart from the invading black phantoms that have killed me mercilessly)), but by the time I've jumped in and started playing this game a lot of them were already really familiar with most of the game and would storm through the early maps at a fast pace. It'll be hopefully more interesting to play with western players that aren't quite as familiar or hardcore)

The biggest hurdle ingame is not getting upset or frustrated when you die and lose a couple thousand souls. The game was seemingly built so that you can run levels and keep building up souls as well as providing plenty throughout the game.
