'Uncharted' Film In Development, Kyle Ward Predictably Hired as Screenwriter
by Nick Breckon, Jun 25, 2009 9:30pm PDTA feature film based on Naughty Dog's action-adventure series Uncharted is in the works at Columbia Pictures, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Kyle Ward, the same largely-untested writer tasked with penning the scripts for Hitman 2 and the Kayne & Lynch adaptation, will handle the screenplay. Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner have been assigned as producers.
No other details on the film were mentioned in the report.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, the story of Indiana Jones-esque protagonist Nathan Drake, was released in 2007 on PlayStation 3. The anticipated sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, will arrive in stores this November.

The only thing that I didnt like in the game was the undead spaniards, I would of liked it to be a bit more humane, not that there is anything wrong with the game but it was a bit like Tomb Raider with the creatures in.

I mean, the best game movie we've had so far was Mortal Kombat. Mortal fucking Kombat. And even that was just barely passable. (Although, I haven't seen Silent Hill. Opinions seem split on that one).
But seriously, why make these movies if 90% of people that would consider seeing it know it's going to be crap beforehand? Surely they'd be better off just creating an original IP, as well as being cheaper?

The game was incredible! The first 85% was gaming bliss, and the last 15% was very difficult yet didn't ruin this great movie game.
