LucasArts Might Revamp More Classic Adventures

Come On, LucasArts! Why not follow Telltale's lead and create some new quality sequels or side stories? Sure it'll require a bit more effort on your part, but in the end everyone will be satisfied. You'll have your monies and a renewed interest in the adventure game genre. Younger gamers get an introduction to the series and likely get interested in the previous games. The older crowd will get more of what they love, or if they don't like it they'll just choose to ignore it as if it never happened. Everyone wins!

Escape From Monkey Island should be "upgraded" to The Curse of Monkey Island's graphics.

Lucasarts, just fix the awful god damned animation of the remake then this will make me buy the game. Not to forget the new douche look of Guybrush.

It's more positive and I don't have to listen to you flap your jaws as much.

Would it really be worth remaking games that already have voice acting?

I guess I don't see the point of a DOTT or Full Throttle remake. The voice acting is superb, and the graphics still hold up pretty well.

With that said, I really hope they remake MI2 next.

I don't think they should expect big sales. you don't get that overnight... a lot of the original adventure game audience will have no clue something like this is even coming. I'd hate to see them bitch about the day 1 sales of this and then turn their backs on the idea... which is probably going to happen.

"We can't seem to recapture any of the magic that made us great in the past... let's just rerelease the things we made when creative people worked here."

I dont think most of these games need an overhaul. They look awesome, even now. the cartoony look of DotT or Full Throttle is fine...

I really would like seeing sequels (maybe with the originals as unlockable content) instead of simply remakes, but I'll take what I can get.

As long as we're on the topic though, I really hope Loom gets a make over, loved that game.

The closeups in the original look a lot better. Apart from that it gets a big thumbs up.

This is beyond fucking hilarious - was Lucasarts taken over? I seem to recall their leader beaking off on a tech show about how the adventure genre was dead and no one cared about the old games. They said they were done with that chapter and were moving on. "Maybe in another 20 years" he said.

Now what, Telltale making it look interesting again? The genre isn't in any better place when he said these things.

this looks like they are making us buy the new Monkey Island. And I think it's totally unnecessary, we're all gonna buy it anyway :)

This would be awesome, I pre-ordered the new Monkey series and can't wait to pick this up. I think with the great sales for Telltale's games like Sam and Max and Wallace and Gromit, this will definitely happen. Bring on a Full Throttle remake!!!
