Overlord 2 Demo Arrives on PC

As promised, Codemasters has now released a demo for the PC version of Triumph Studios' Overlord II. The 972MB download can be found over on FileShack.

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 demos of the dark-humored action-RTS were released last week, and can be found in each console's online marketplace. The full version arrives at North American retailers on June 23 and in European stores on June 26.

I really enjoyed the demo. Never played Overlord before. The simplicity, the sense of humor and the magnificent graphics (very good optimized for PC --at least a decent console port!---) makes me want to buy Overlord 2.

Anyone who tried the Demo of the first one only to have it run terribly on a new computer (like me) should give this demo a shot. The crappy performance of the Overlord 1 demo made me not buy it. This demo runs smooth and makes me want to rethink my choice.

I enjoyed the demo alot and was sad when it ended. Brought back good memories of the first one. I think it's almost a given for me to get this when it releases. Gotta love whacking all those seals...and I mean all! As for the control and movement of the minions, now that you mention it perhaps their formation is tighter but I didn't even notice until someone said something. I should run the two side by side to see the differences for the hell of it.

tried the demo on 360. unfortunately it does not play as awesome as overlord 1 imo because I don't like the ridiculous rigidness of the new minion sweep... it's like they're a single character moving precisely together... not at all like wackiness of the first one where they just go wreck shit and bring you back goodies and do crazy antics. I wish they didn't change that for no reason because it kind of wrecks the game's personality.

Is the demo for the 360 available to silver members yet? Last I checked was still gold only. What a lame thing to keep demos out of potential buyers hands just to make their "gold" membership seem special.

that's really cool!
Haven't had the chance to buy the game yet. (already spend money on Prototype and FUEL)

But let's see how this one turns out, if it's a big improvement onto the first title and comes with the same charme I might also buy that one.

Also depends on how good or bad the console portation has been made.
