iPhone 3.0 Firmware Dated: Brings Bluetooth Mutiplayer Gaming, In-game DLC
by Nick Breckon, Jun 08, 2009 1:40pm PDTApple today announced that the iPhone 3.0 firmware update is now set for a June 17 release.
The update brings support for local multiplayer support over Bluetooth, as well as in-game downloadable content.

Several games released today already make use of the new functionality. ngmoco's Star Defense, the planet-based tower defense title shown at Apple's press conference this morning, offers several priced content packs for download.
On the multiplayer front, Gameloft's racer Asphalt 5 was singled out for sporting the new peer-to-peer tech. id's John Carmack also said last month that a Bluetooth-enabled version of Doom iPhone will be released in the near future.
