And people bitch about Guitar Hero ...
I swear they could put "Final Fantasy: Dump in a Box" on the cover and it would sell.

Even more skeptical of a Japanese developer working on an MMO. They just don't have the experience. I have a feeling its going to be a game that is even more grind than your average western MMO.
I have a feeling a lot of modern conventions used in western MMOs may not make it into FF14... map indicators for quests, loot sorting, clear and coherent stat expainations, etc.

Ah puke. I had to look up "eldritch"... apparently it means "weird" in Old English or something. It seems someone was hittin' up the thesaurus pretty hard. Crimson Shadow? I have no idea what the fuck that means -- I didn't see a single red-colored shadow. Also, this laid on the always mystical "destiny" and "fate" and "pages of eternity" pretty thick. I couldn't help but laugh at how cliched fantasy that is.
Forget all that poetry crap -- just tell me it has better graphics, a good inventory system, and true widescreen support (16:9 and 16:10, dammit).
