'Halo Reach' Announced

Bungie today announced "Halo Reach" for a 2010 release.

A short trailer began with a shot of a planet under attack. Soon the planet was consumed in flame. Though no details were provided, the game is strongly rumored to be a prequel set in the Halo universe.

The trailer ended abruptly, with a note that a multiplayer beta for the game will be included with the upcoming Halo 3: ODST.

If it follows the plot of the novel "Fall of Reach", this could actually be good. I had always wondered why they didn't really use any of the material from the book, it makes the Spartans and the Master Chief character so much more interesting when you know when they came from. Otherwise, yeah, kind of a quick cash grab. I hope not though. I could potentially be a good reboot for the series.

got sick of Halo a few months after Halo 3. They are over saturating the franchise and it all looks extremely dull.
