Battlefield 1943 Bonus Fourth Map Unlocked by Blood
by Alice O'Connor, May 29, 2009 5:58am PDTDICE has today announced that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 edition of its downloadable multeriplayer shooter Battlefield 1943 will contain not three maps but four, setting "a worldwide community challenge" to unlock the fourth field of war, Coral Sea.
Coral Sea will unlock on each platforms once its players have collectively racked up 43 million kills, with the game's website providing information on how close players are.
Battlefield 1943 arrives on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in June for $15, with a gussied up PC version--potentially with gameplay closer to BF1942--set for release in September.

Coral Sea was hilarious in 1942, the amount of times people beached the carrier was hilarious. There'll be no driving of the carrier in this but I can't wait to try it all out.
What day in June?!

Next thing you know Blizzard will say Diablo 3 will be released when 10 billion monsters have been slain in Diablo 2.

uuug... that was an annoying map. I dont think id be eagerly watching the website for the kills to rack up to that point so it can unlock.
It shouldn't take many days. A few hundred thousand players would reach that very quickly or am I thinking about this the wrong way somehow?
