Skateboard-equipped 'Tony Hawk: Ride' Listed at $120
by Nick Breckon, May 26, 2009 1:01pm PDTThe skateboard peripheral-packing Tony Hawk: Ride will be sold in a bundle for $120, according to new GameStop listings.
The peripheral uses tilt sensors to control general movement, while infra-red sensors allow players to perform grabs.
According to developer Robomodo, the game will not be playable without the peripheral, as the title's controls have been "finely tuned" for the board.
Tony Hawk: Ride is scheduled for release this fall on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.

A. It's more expensive than the wiiFit. So the 'get gamers to become more active' argument doesn't hold
B. It only has one game for it. I can only think of one other game that did this and it flopped too (steel battalion)
C. The game can only be played with this $120 controller. It's not even like Guitar Hero/Rock Band where multiple people can play and have fun..this is one controller..
With games like Skate on the market, what were they thinking? That someone would want to pay triple for a Tony Hawk retread over priced peripheral?
