Report: Sony Briefed Developers on PSP Rental Service During GDC
by Nick Breckon, May 21, 2009 3:34pm PDTA new report out of Develop claims that Sony briefed developers on its plans for a PSP download rental service as far as back as March's Game Developers Conference.
The report corroborates recent evidence obtained by Joystiq, which showed a survey asking consumers about the potential subscription-based service.
"The service will enable you to download a fixed number of games during your subscription period," read the survey, which asked users their opinion on subscription length, pricing, and how many games they would like to have access to.
Rumors of a PSP update have consistently claimed that the purported revision will remove the UMD disc drive, converting the handheld to a download-only machine.
