by Nick Breckon, May 21, 2009 10:55am PDTRockstar Games co-founders Jamie King and Gary Foreman have joined other technology executives to form 4mm Games, a new game development studio.
The studio will focus on "high profile properties," and has already secured significant capital from investor Autumn Games. The deal will see 4mm creating multiple titles across several platforms.
"4mm Games has a pioneering vision for the future of interactive entertainment," said Autumn Games CEO Alex Collmer. "We believe the 4mm management team combines a unique blend of design, technological prowess and cultural understanding in a way that will speak to a broad audience, and we look forward to working together to create blockbuster entertainment."
Formerly Rockstar's VP of product development, King will now serve as 4mm's president. Foreman will carry over his Rockstar role to lead the company's technology efforts. They are joined by former Image Metrics executive Nicholas Perrett and tech sector veteran Paul Coyne.
