Evening Reading

Played a decent amount of Killing Floor, the zombie survival mod-turned-retail game from Tripwire. It certainly still feels more like a mod than a retail game, but I sort of like it with the right group of people.

I do wish that you could build actual barricades in both this game and Left 4 Dead. I have a gaming fetish that can only be sated by piling random objects in front of a door and playing hide-and-go-shoot. This explains my intense love of Resident Evil 4.

And the nominations for Most Interesting News of May 15 go to:

And the winner goes to.. Valve. A truly brilliant twist on an already entertaining marketing campaign.

  • Since XFX Support told me to reset the CMOS and start with minimal devices plugged in, after I put in a support ticket telling them I reset the CMOS and started with minimal devices plugged in (...srsly...) I'll ask you guys:

I woke up this morning and my monitor, keyboard, and mouse were all turned off. Strange.
I rebooted, and the computer doesn't post. Its a 780i motherboard and is now displaying code C5 on the mobo LED. That doesn't make any sense when looking at the code in the book. It says shadow copy enabled. lol.

    I'm thinking northbridge. Thoughts?

  • Evening? Its the middle of the afternoon!

I love living on the West Coast. The weather in the PNW is.......dare I say it for fear of being stricken by a bolt of lightning......beautiful!

I just got back from the driving range for the second time this season. I haven't played 9 since about 3 months before I joined the Navy (about 4 years now). I shocked myself by hitting about 200 consistently (and straight for the most part) with my very shitty (Spaulding 11.5 beaten to hell) range driver.

I am now seriously jiving for the golfing bug. I think I'm going to get my own set (Beginner/Intermediate so I really don't want to shell out a grand for irons), but don't know where to start doing research on where/what to buy. I'm probably going to stay off the courses for another couple of months so I'm looking at getting clubs probably the middle of next month. Any suggestions?

Also seriously amped up for next winter because of my trip to Whistler for Telus (zomg beautiful), and probably going to buy an Outback/4wd truck/insert random vehicle here in the next 12 months. Exciting times despite the economy. I haven't had hobbies since probably high school outside of Computers, Booze, and Women, so I'm filled with a sense of purpose that I haven't had in a long time.

Now if it work would stop sucking so gd much, I think I would be in a pretty happy spot for the next couple of years that could carry me into going back to school. Should be good times!
