Red Faction MP Demo Hits Consoles Next Week
by Chris Faylor, May 15, 2009 1:43pm PDTWith the single-player demo for Red Faction: Guerrilla having been downloaded over one million times, developer Volition has revealed that a downloadable multiplayer demo will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners on May 21.
The full version of the destructive PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 action game hits June 2.
According to Volition's community site, the multiplayer demo will contain:
- 2 Maps
- 9 Weapons
- 5 Backpacks
- 15 unlockable XP levels
- Damage Control Playlist only.

strange then that every retail site has the PC version dated for August (and has been for well over a month).
Can't wait to hear the spin for this one.

So you unlock the ability to get a bonus for headshot kills for example, then for double kills etc etc. So all your levelling up is doing is unlocking more ways to...level up? Yet theres no real aim to it. No proper rewards to even strive towards. It may aswel not exist as the "xp boosts" you unlock are all very standard for a shooter, as stated above.
Its a pity because the Singleplayer demo seriously surprised me, and was top notch. But the MP looks to really be lacking - and thats where the legs of the game will be :(
