League of Legends Bears Blowguns and Lampposts

For some reason the art in this game really reminds me of Psychonauts. Luckily I liked Psychonauts a lot so it doesn't bother me, but it does seem sort of an odd choice for a hero arena game. Maybe they went a little towards that extreme to differentiate from DotA and WC3? In any case it's quirky but looks really good graphically. It should work well for this type of game.

As far as the new heroes... They are awesome. I want to scout some faces in with Teemo, who looks like a Whispering Rock summer camp escapee.

I love DOTA, I'm really hoping someone's gonna come out with an updated version. Had hopes for Demigod, it looks so cool, but it's all slow and clunky it doesn't have that addictive hook like DOTA. League of Legends is claiming they're the next contender, but I don't have high hopes. All the screen shots the lanes look wide and bound by unmoveable stone (instead of manipulatable trees). Gotta say I don't like the art style, it looks like the outdated engine Dota is currently using, but sugared up on breakfast cereal, like ultra kiddie DOTA. I don't know, as I remember Dota history, DOTA didn't really take off and become huge until Icefrog took over from Guinsoo, and Icefrog's not involved in LOL. (of course the advertising Guinsoo's been doing (or you could call them heavily biased articles and interviews) rewrites that history to minimize Icefrog lifting Dota above the mass of warcraft mods. ) I hope I'm wrong and it feels like an updated Dota (though art wise it doesn't look updated)

If they released it RIGHT now it would still be better than the pile of shit that Demigod is.
