Velvet Assassin Gone Gold, Hits Next Week

5

Replay Studios' stealth-action video game take on the real-life WWII exploits of British agent Violette Szabo will has gone gold, publisher SouthPeak has announced. In celebration of the accomplishment, a handful of new screenshots were provided.

With Velvet Assassin now in manufacturing, the publisher noted that the PC and Xbox 360 title will ship to North American stores on April 30. However, several retailers currently list the game as shipping out a few days earlier, on Tuesday, April 28.

I always thought Gold to Shelf turn around has been at least 2 weeks, usually more.

I just remember this from when I browsed GoneGold.com before I came to the Shack. So did they just go gold and can manufacture quickly (boxes, manuals, and such are usually done well in advance) or are they announcing it a little late? I'm more inclined to believe the latter.

      Probably announcing late.

The real problem here is whether or not to buy it today with absolutely no reviews... it's like casting stones into darkness. I beat Godfather 2 though so it might not be such a bad thing trading that for this.. even if this game sucks.. I'm bound to get some enjoyment out of it yes?.. Lets hope so..

Oh I should mention that Raven Software's Wolverine Origins game is HIGH up on my list to buy this friday so I can hold off on Velvet maybe.. even though licensed games usually are garbage like we all know so well.. But it's Raven Software and they've been working on THIS particular licensed game for around 2 years... which is quite a bit longer than the 8 months or so they usually get to produce licensed drivel.
