Black Prophecy Trailer Showcases Login Screen, Trade Window and Epic Space Battles
by Alice O'Connor, Apr 08, 2009 6:57pm PDTIf you have ever wished EVE Online had more pew pew, this trailer of Reakktor Media's upcoming space combat MMO Black Prophecy might be right up your space alley.
Black Prophecy sports fast-paced combat where players must actually aim their shots, modular ship building and item modification systems, epic space battles offering the opportunity to man a battleship's guns, and some rather fetching space stations.
Reakktor--developer of MMO FPS series Neocron--has yet to announce a release date.

Frankly the game has been getting very fucking boring. Good to see i can jump ship into something more fun and engaging... about time we had some alternatives.

It's pretty, it has massive depth, and a huge world. It's open ended with lots of possibilities.
I think where it fails is the core game play, UI and player feedback. It's just not that fun to play 90% of the time. It's frustrating because it's so close to being a good game and a great space ship experience. But they do keep improving it... so maybe some day in the future.
Other space games that are more action based, have less repercussions (risk to having fun) I hope will only be good for the genre and maybe force CCP to change for the better.
