Shack PSA: Prince of Persia 50% Off on Steam

Continuing that week-long Ubisoft sale on Steam, Valve has revealed that today's download-only sale is a 50% discount on Ubisoft Montreal's Prince of Persia.

That puts the PC version of the acrobatic open-world platformer at $24.99 in the US.

Upon its release last fall, the game garnered mixed reactions. Some praised the title for its distinct look and smooth gameplay, while others complained it was too easy and marred by repetitive boss fights. The Epilogue downloadable content was meant to alleviate some of those issues, though the content will not be released on PC.

This one is 22.49 euros in Europe. Better than yesterday's sale but it's still equivalent to $30.50. That's little enough to be explained by Europe's 25% VAT though.

screenshots really don't do this game justice. i rented this game in the past week, and its really gorgeous, and the "no dying" debate is really moot since this is a big open world where you can go everywhere. I kinda love it.

I don't understand why it sells for only 30$ at retail (the PC version). I bought it a week after it came out at this price at Futureshop and it wasn't a sale; it has always been this price. I'm not complaining, I love the game.
Even better, it doesn't have any DRM, whereas Steam's version has SecuRom or something like that...

Wish the entire Prince of Persia package was 50% off. I probably won't buy this since the package was already a significant discount.

Although, it would be cheaper to buy them all individually instead of going for the package ... Hmmm.
I guess I could get the newest one now and buy the old ones later - and I'd still be saving a lot of money.
