Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Coming to PS3

Tecmo has announced that it will bring a version of its kinetic beat-em-up sequel Ninja Gaiden 2 (Xbox 360) to the PlayStation 3 this fall.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will feature PlayStation Network support and new content, according to a Kotaku report gleaned from Famitsu.

In addition to poster ninja Ryu Hayabusa, Sigma 2 will also allow players to mash buttons as Dead or Alive's Ayane.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is scheduled to arrive in stores this fall in Japan. No word on an official North American date.

I absolutley loved the original game. NG2 while still very fun and a damn good game was no where near the NG:B/DMC3 level of action game awesomeness.

Ninja Gaiden for XBOX is still the best 3rd person action game ever made, not even debatable. No game was so punishing but still quite capable of being mastered. I remember my first run through was a lesson in pain. By the time I stopped playing it daily I was doing no death runs on hard mode. The shit that you thought was a cheap move was actually telegraphed to you before hand and avoidable if you were paying attention (like exploding shurikens). Bosses could hand your ass to you until you learned the patterns they exihibit.

Best update of a 2d game since Mario 64.

Very interesting, not sure if I'll get it..... I honestly didn't like NG2 at all, considering how great NGB was. NG2 really just felt like their heart wasn't in it, most of the game was just filler material with no thought/love behind it. The fact there were lawsuits and whatnot right after the game shipped wasn't really surprising.

I honestly loved NG2. One of the most under appreciated X360 games and probably my favorite. The flow of combat was more fluid that NGB/Sigma and the controls felt tighter. The only problems that I had were a couple slow down in some fights. I'm suprised that people had so much of a problem with the camera, it was a minor annoyance in my opinion. One of the biggest reasons that I think it's also superior to the God of War/Force Unleashed/Ninja Blade is the lack of QTE's, which I think ruin the skill and fun experience of action games.

This should still be good, but without Itagaki and several core members of Team Ninja, hope that Tecmo can still do the game justice.
