by Chris Faylor, Mar 14, 2009 8:55am PDTNice to see that we got some actual BioShock 2 details yesterday, especially after the early morning fake-out. Though I will admit, I'm a bit bummed that the rhinoceros and giant squid bosses turned out to be bunk. Those sounded off-the-wall awesome.
As Indiana is still pulling the old "it looks sunny and nice outside but it's really just a few degrees above freezing" trick, I think I'll end up spending most of the weekend inside. Let's see how many episodes of The Wire I can burn through, but don't worry. I'll take breaks to play Resident Evil 5, 50 Cent, and Peggle. Maybe I'll even read a book!

Terminator Salvation vs. Star Trek
I think I'm going with Star Trek on this one. The multitude of characters looks really good. When the enemy is a bunch of robots it limits the character development quite a bit and turn things into just a roller coaster of fight scenes.

I just wanted to say that Harold is the most compelling, fascinating, and terrifying creature design I've seen in a game in years. I'm not necessarily saying anything he does or is part of is amazing, but the way he appears, moves, just looks at you... Wow.
It takes a LOT to get this jaded gamer to get off his ass and take note of a single object in a game, but that... thing's design is the kind of visual that will stick with me.
If anyone reading this works for Bethesda: Bravo!

How into this game are you guys? I picked it up Friday and I'm probably 2+ hours into it so far (I'm at the part with the chainsaw guy)
I have to say, I'm not that impressed yet. It's decent, and co-op is cool, but damn - this game just isn't drawing me in like I thought it would. I guess I have to realize "it's a resident evil game, so it's going to be slow and reloading your guns is going to suck."

This thing is a game collection done right! Tons of good games, interesting little blurbs on them, and you can save anywhere at all. Like I saw in one review, "This disc is my childhood on a dvd."

But, I decided to make a new dude anyways as I don't remember the password to my old account and it was using an email I no longer use and forgot to forward the future emails (college email). That account I think I played for 9 months before I suspended it. I had a second new account which was only around for the 21 day trial under steam and that character didn't make it too far so another 21 days isn't gonna kill me.
My goal is to get to Battlecruiser level sometime this year. I think I had a Destroyer and a Barge for mining with my last account, almost joined Goonfleet.
I know there's a shack channel in game but is there any outlet outside the game aside from the latest chatty?

They limited my account because I tried to withdraw money using a Blackberry browser. Now, this was a week ago (March 7th), and I did all the steps they listed to take care of it on March 8th. The resolution time for this is supposed to be 4 business days, and I'm still waiting. I tried e-mailing them on Friday, but I got a form reply that does nothing to address my question minutes after I sent it (meaning that I got a fucking robot reply when I was trying to email a CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE). The reply also said "do not reply to this message as no one will read it" or something along those lines. Meaning that I can't contact anyone.
Now, I have money in my account. Money that I want to withdraw and use to buy hookers and coke. How do I get my money out? :(

I love the Voiceover option for the playlists. Makes it great to have some organized playlist for once.
I think that Apple should:
- Include Voiceover for all shuffles in a software firmware update because it is that useful.
- Included a remote cable with the controls on that cable, but where it is between whatever earphones you're using and the ipod shuffle.

In this game you construct the mechanism to run a steam-powered 'mech' in an alternate Civil War. During battle, you only have contral of one switch, and the rest of the mech must run automatically.
It is short, only 4 levels. I made it through the game after a few tries.
Alchemical Engineering

A longer, more complex game where you must program robot arms to combine atoms of different elements according to alchemy 'laws' to form a required material for each level. There are about 15 levels, and so far I'm up to level 10. You can 'save' your construction as a line of text and share it.
I'd like to see you could build the fastest machine or one that uses the fewest parts for some of these levels!
