Grand Slam Trailer Shows Off EA's Wii Tennis Game

Here's a trailer for EA's upcoming Grand Slam Tennis, which hits Wii on June 16. The game definitely looks nice, but it's hard to say anything else because I haven't had a chance to play it yet. With a motion-centric game like this, the controls are everything.

For a game that uses real world tennis players, I'm not a fan of the deformed comedic look they seem to have given the models. Just from watching the video, I get the impression that it's more of a not-so-serious offshoot tennis game than a serious attempt at a professional tennis simulator.

Looks horrible but plays well. Some of the animations need to be more seamless but overall, I'm impressed.

It's hard to tell from this of course, but the way the ball moves makes it look like they took the good part of Wii Sports tennis and improved on it.

After getting my ass handed to me by my less-hairy other-half, I guess this is just going to make the victories even more painful.. Time to go doubles perhaps.. Looks good, - kind of reminds me of the Clone Wars animations.. good God please don't let Yoda appear from the wings..
