Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor Screenshots

With the spring release of Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor approaching, publisher THQ has issued some new screenshots of Relic's latest stand-alone expansion.

The WWII PC strategy game will pack three new single-player campaigns, along with new multiplayer modes, maps and units. It will also sport a new "direct-fire" feature for better control, and interface with Company of Heroes and the Opposing Fire expansion.

Apparently ToV will bring a DotA style multiplayer mode, should be interesting.

I expect that this will, in itself, be a good high-quality game but as an expansion pack (of sorts), it's somewhat disappointing. I don't mind the changes made to Dawn of War 2, so much, as that universe and genre works really well with the adaptions made but in this series, I think a lot of us were hoping for more factions and new theaters of war to play in. This won't be the game we're looking for, in that regard.

Doesn't mean I won't be purchasing it - Relic makes fun games after all - but it's a bit disappointing in what it purports to offer.
