Peggle Pops Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday
by Chris Faylor, Mar 09, 2009 7:40am PDTThe long-awaited downloadable Xbox 360 release of PopCap's ball-bouncing puzzle game Peggle will arrive this Wednesday, March 11, at the price of 800 MS Points ($10). The goal is simple: take out the colored orange pegs before you run out of shots.
Along with 55 single-player levels and 75 Challenge mode stages, the Xbox 360 release packs two multiplayer modes, the two-player duel mode and four-player peg party mode. Both can be played online over Xbox Live, and the duel mode can also be played offline.
The release also packs online leaderboard functionality, so you can see how well you stack up again the rest of the Pegglelites, and support for downloadable content.

Then I will wonder... what kind of world it is we live in where someone will, without doubt, sink hours and hours into Peggle just to find that perfect shot.
I love Peggle, but I love a lot of games that have wound up on Live (Catan, Carcassone, hell even Uno). And, when I hop on for the first time in months and get into a multiplayer match and get destroyed I don't get mad, just a little sad inside.

Hey Chris, you might want to mention that Square Enix's Tower Defense title is hitting this week too, an equally awesome looking game.
