Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits to Feature 48 Songs, Partial Setlist Revealed

Activision's Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits will feature a total of 48 songs from the previous guitar-only titles, updating the tracks for full-band support.

The first eight songs, revealed in an IGN interview, provide an idea of what to expect on the full setlist. All tracks will be master tracks, as some were previously covers.

"I Love Rock N Roll" -- Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
"Nothin' But A Good Time" -- Poison
"Them Bones" -- Alice in Chains
"Killer Queen" -- Queen
"Killing in the Name" -- Rage Against The Machine
"I Wanna Rock" -- Twisted Sister
"Through the Fire and Flames" -- Dragonforce
"Barracuda" -- Heart

Greatest Hits arrives in June on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Wii. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will cost $60, with the Wii and PS2 versions running $50 and $40 respectively.

damn...now they are just really milking it. at least the other games they keep pumping out have new songs. this one is just stuff already released.

Not milk. This is actually a really good idea. Besides. 48 tracks for $50 69 $60 ish dollars isn't bad at all. Plus, a lot of the old tracks are great. To sum up what I've seen in these posts:

1) full band support
2) updated note charts
3) probably not going to let you transfer these songs to the other game(s)

Stupid idea. If this was a RB thing I'd probably get it because I'd be able to play the songs while RB2 was in the system.

If I wanted to swap discs every time I played a different song I'd have a PS2 with GH & GH2

i'm sure this has been answered a million times but I just got rock band for PS2. Will I be able to use the drums/mic from rock band to play this on PS2 or would I need the guitar hero world tour (or whatever it's called) controllers.

i wonder if they will re-work the guitar parts... as they have clearly gotten better at representing note and chord progression over the years, also adding the newer features like hammer-ons with held notes or the tap notes to some of the older songs would be very appropriate.

my magic 8 ball says probably not, but it would be nice :/
