Blizzard Plans Diablo 2 Patch, Solicits Requests
by Nick Breckon, Mar 04, 2009 3:57pm PSTNot happy with working on just one Diablo game, the ever-updating folks at Blizzard are looking to fashion a Diablo II 1.13 patch--and they need your help.
In a post on the official Battle.net forums, Blizzard's Bashiok has asked fans to list their most-wanted feature for the new patch in an effort to best meet the needs of the still-strong community.
"Our goal is to get an overall sense of the single most important request from every member of the community," writes Bashiok.
He added: "We want as many posts as we can get for the largest cross section, so if you have friends who used to play Diablo II or just don't frequent the forums as much as you do, let them know this is here so we can get their '#1 patch note' too."

Unfortunately that would involve a fundamental rewrite of the Direct3D renderer, since I'm not even 100% sure it's DirectX 7 compliant. They probably don't want to go to that much trouble, and I couldn't say that I blame them.
