Blizzard Plans Diablo 2 Patch, Solicits Requests
by Nick Breckon, Mar 04, 2009 3:57pm PSTNot happy with working on just one Diablo game, the ever-updating folks at Blizzard are looking to fashion a Diablo II 1.13 patch--and they need your help.
In a post on the official Battle.net forums, Blizzard's Bashiok has asked fans to list their most-wanted feature for the new patch in an effort to best meet the needs of the still-strong community.
"Our goal is to get an overall sense of the single most important request from every member of the community," writes Bashiok.
He added: "We want as many posts as we can get for the largest cross section, so if you have friends who used to play Diablo II or just don't frequent the forums as much as you do, let them know this is here so we can get their '#1 patch note' too."

Hopefully those Blizz critics will stop comparing the art in Diablo 3 to 2 then.

It is very respectable that they've supported it this long, though it would have been awesome if they were creating new classes and acts all the while....also new resolutions and graphical effects.
I hope somehow they capture the atmosphere of the first Diablo in the new game. While I have little doubt it will be awesome I don't expect they will. I just hope I'm all shiny and badass when I get the higher level armor...more realistic looking that the WOW type artwork.

Better yet, open-sourcing the engine so we can make further modifications. This way you make everyone's dream feature list come true, as we could add features ourselves.

But I'd like to see an "infinite stash" capability. Or at least, HUGE. Failing that, I'd like to see gems handled a little more like gold pieces. In other words, they wouldn't take up room in your real inventory.
