Duke Nukem 3D Hits GOG: $6 and DRM Free
by Chris Faylor, Feb 26, 2009 7:23am PSTGood Old Games has announced that it will begin selling classic PC games published by Apogee Software, starting with the immediate availability of Duke Nukem 3D.
For $5.99, buyers will be able to download the Atomic Edition of Duke Nukem 3D, billed as the "most complete version" of 3D Realms' ass-kicking, bubblegum-chewing shooter. As with all other GOG releases, the download is DRM-free.
Other Apogee titles hitting GOG in the near future include Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold and Planet Strike, Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project, and Rise of the Triad: Dark War.

I wonder if people who have never played duke before will buy this.
That would be good thing, getting a bigger fanbase before the release of Duke Nukem Forever will increase sales.
Anyway, its good to see Duke still being sold around the place.

I hope they bring some of the old school side scrollers like Secret Agent, Bio Menace, and Hocus Pocus.

Unless they had the engine before Wolfenstein 3-D was released the dates from Wikipedia don't support this
Wolfenstein 3-D: 1992-05-02
Blake Stone: 1993-12-03
but it does seem that Blake Stone took about as long to make as it took id Software to make DOOM, which came out one week later

Can I run the game any way I want to or am I forced to use the Dosbox configuration? Because I prefer the you do it from this site: http://buildxp.deathmask.net/
Using the instructions there I've made Blood run more or less perfectly without Dosbox. Like my computer was from 1999. And it works for the Duke demo (for me) as well so yeah.
So can you run the game the way you would've done it in 1997?
