    It probably isn't as easy as just updating the graphics though. Some of FF7's concepts are going to feel dated by now, although I agree that the story and overall framework is absolutely fantastic.
    
    I'd probably be more enthusiastic about something new, but set in FF7's universe. I'm not sure it'd be all that playing through the same game yet another time, only with new looks.
    
    Come to think of it, I'd rather want something new but as good and memorable as FF7; but since that's not going to happen, maybe I'd do better to just join you in your request for an updated FF7 after all.
