Skate 2 DLC Adds Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Plaza
by Chris Faylor, Feb 19, 2009 12:33pm PSTA new bit of downloadable content for Skate 2 will bring Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Plaza skate part into EA Black Box's skateboarding sequel, publisher EA announced today.
Who's Rob Dyrdek, you may ask? Why, he's a professional skateboarder and the star of the MTV pseudo-reality show Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, which is all about the antics and drama that occur in and around the funhouse below Dyrdek's office.
"I can't wait to give players a taste of the Fantasy Plaza, my dream skateboarding space," noted Dyrdek. "The team at Black Box has recreated the plaza in Skate 2, complete with all the ledges, gaps and rails. On top of all that, there's still a lot more surprises outside the park that both gamers and skaters will enjoy."
Out today, the Fantasy Plaza DLC will set PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers back $5.

next is the "san van classic" pack which includes the elementary school and community center (which was the demo) from skate 1. too bad EA doesn't see the value in free support like with Criterion's Burnout Paradise.
Charging for small additions like this small fantasy plaza or fantastic spots from the first game that should have returned in the sequel, or freaking new cameras a week after launch which were obviously held back from the retail disc is disappointing. It's hard to know if this stuff is being worked on after the fact or if it was stripped for DLC after what EA did to Black Box and how soon it's coming after release.
